Grief and Gratitude can CoExist

As Thanksgiving fast approaches, it can be very hard to remember to be grateful if you are navigating through the road of grief, especially in this current climate of a pandemic.

I often asked myself how can I be grateful for anything when I still painfully miss so many of my love ones; and the holidays seem to only amplify their absence and my longing for their presence.

I have learned to rely on on my faith to pull me through. There’s a song by Walter Hawkins that I play Be Grateful . The opening of the song says God has not promised me sunshine. That’s not the way it’s going to be. But a little rain. It goes on to say God said he would, he would never, never forsake you! Be grateful.

On this upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, try to be grateful. Push pass the pain, know that you are not alone. God has not forgotten you. Grief and gratitude can coexist. Remember to breathe and to Recycle Your Pain!
